The IN Series presents
Mozart's The Magic Flute
GALA Theatre-Tivoli
Washington, DC

New production of our “wacky & wonderful” English update of Mozart’s beloved opera. Directed by Joe Banno, book & lyrics by Allyson Currin and Kelley Rourke, conductor Joel Lazar. At the tearful request of the Queen of the Night (Colleen Daly), Tamino (Ole Hass) and Papageno (Terry Eberhardt) are enlisted to rescue the Queen’s daughter, Pamina (Randa Rouweyha) from the supposedly evil clutches of her father Dr. Sarastro (David Brundage), CEO of the Osiris Clinic. The heroes are aided by a magic “flute,” complete with navigator and video, but getting the girl is not so simple. Three “Desperate” Ladies (Jennifer Suess, Alice Dillon, Grace Gori), a trio of Schoolgirls (Beth Rubens, Laura Wehrmeyer, Ingrid Cowan), two zealous Doctors (Scott Sedar, Jason Rylander), and the sleazy Dr. Monostatos (Aref Dajani or Peter Burroughs) keep delaying the happy ending! Scene painting by Helen Zughaib. Design team: Marianne Meadows, David Ghatan, Greg Stevens.
